Our workshop formats – examples

Exploring a draft purpose statement

This workshop is designed to help a leadership team explore a draft purpose statement to help:

  • Deepen the understanding of and commitment to becoming purpose-led
  • Challenge the team to consider how the purpose statement could shape their strategy, their relationship with stakeholders and their culture
  • Create shared ownership of the process and a shared view of the intention and motivation that will direct next steps

Exploring the relationships in the Blueprint Principles

This workshop explores how thinking of business as a series of relationships changes the nature of the interaction and engagement with the people on which the business’ success depends and how this, in turn, influences strategy development and execution.

One outcome of this workshop is to recognise the importance of effective dialogue, to not assume what different people and groups of people may be feeling or thinking in relation to the business.

Engaging the leadership – 3 workshop outlines

This pack contains the outlines of some of the different workshop formats we have used to help engage leadership teams. These can all be adapted to use in different ways depending on the stage a leadership team is at and how far there is already a shared understanding. They can also be used with Boards or other teams to help create a shared understanding of what it means to be purpose-led.

Thinking about measures and metrics – 2 workshop outlines

This pack contains two workshop formats to help think about how to use measures and metrics in a purpose-led business. They take two slightly different approaches and can be used either as alternative workshops or as two consecutive workshops.

The purpose of the workshops is to:

  • Tease out current assumptions about measures and metrics,
  • Help participants start to be more thoughtful about how they use measures and metrics: seeing them as inputs to help a company on its journey to becoming purpose-led
  • Start to become aware of/attuned to the potential shadow sides of metrics
