Questions to explore

Below are some questions for you to reflect on in the context of how you and others think about people:

  • Think of a time when you felt happy and fulfilled at work – what were the factors that motivated you?
  • What does it mean to you to have your dignity respected (to be treated as a ‘someone and not a something’)?
  • What assumptions do you make about what motivates other people? Where do these assumptions come from?
  • Do the decisions you make in your work respect people’s dignity?
  • Review a sample set of policies e.g. expenses policy. What beliefs about people underpin these policies?

Consider exploring these questions with your team/colleagues.
