A. Philip Marsden

Philip has been a business leader and professional adviser throughout his career. For the last 25 years he has advised senior executives internationally. He founded Ridgeway Partners, a top level board search firm, in 2004. In 2016 he funded the purchase of Ridgeway by his employees, remaining as Executive Chair until January 2020.

Philip is Chairman of the Board of Regents at St Benet’s Hall in Oxford and a trustee of the Royal Academy of Arts in London. He is a member of the corporate board of the Royal Marsden Cancer charity and the Cardinal Hume Centre, which works with the young homeless. He is an active supporter of the Speakers for Schools program. He remains as a mentor at Ridgeway.

Philip also invests in and advises a wide range of private businesses directly and through funds.

Previously Philip worked in the financial services and oil industries for Citibank, NatWest Markets and Premier Oil. He entered the search industry through an MBO of Goddard Kay Rogers in 1994. Philip has an MA in Modern History and History of Art from the University of St Andrews.
