Loughlin Hickey

Loughlin qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1980 and then joined KPMG to specialise in tax in 1981. He retired in 2011 and during his career served both personal and corporate clients – both entrepreneurial businesses and global companies – as well as working with tax regulators around the world. He served as a member of UK, regional and global management teams and retired as Global Head of Tax and member of KPMG’s Global Executive Team. Since retiring he has been involved in charitable work which has included working with the Prince of Wales’s Charities and the Blueprint for Better Business initiative.

Loughlin gave a Tedx talk on ‘The Wonder of the Human Bridge’, exploring how our view of the human person shapes the behaviour of people. It shows how a view of the human person as predominantly self interested has shaped business thinking to the detriment of society and how this can be corrected. You can watch his talk here.
