Simon is Managing Director of Centrica’s Power Generation business. He is responsible for developing, constructing and operating Centrica’s power generation portfolio including seven gas fired power stations, five wind farms and Centrica’s 20% share in EDF’s existing nuclear operations in the UK. He was previously a director of the UK trade body the Renewable Energy Association.
Prior to joining Centrica, Simon was Chief Executive of Advanced Plasma Power, a developer of a two- stage waste to energy technology using advanced gasification and plasma conversion technology. Before this he was Managing Director of Generation for EDF Energy, with responsibility for 4GW of coal generation and an 800MW gas plant.
Simon qualified as a chartered account with Ernst and Young and held divisional finance roles in Barclays, Allied Domecq and EDF Energy before moving across to general management.
