Norman Pickavance has been a Board member for over 15 years, across a breadth of fast-paced international and domestic environments, including Hi-Tech, Financial Services, FMCG and Retail Sectors, most recently as Group HR and Communications Director at FTSE 50 supermarket chain Wm Morrisons. Over recent years he has worked on various industry policy forums, including work with the CBI and Cabinet Office on the Youth Unemployment agenda, and most recently Chairing an Independent Review of ‘Zero Hours’ Contracts for Ed Miliband.
In addition to his corporate roles, Norman holds Non-Executive Director positions, with a focus on Public Service, at HMRC and the Serious Fraud Office, helping both organisations to navigate change, improve performance and rebuild trust. He has also been involved with the Not For Profit sector for some time, helping Co-found and Chair a Social Enterprise to help homeless people, working with a christian children’s orphanage in Chennai India, and Advising the Schools Charity, Teach First.
He is currently working on a book on how business leadership can reconnect with society, Norman is exploring how ethics can be brought to the heart of the way organisations are run
