Sir Michael Rake, knighted in 2000, is chairman of BT Group plc (2007) and Worldpay Group plc (2015) as well as deputy chairman of Barclays PLC (2012). He is also a director of McGraw Hill Financial (2008), and chairman of Majid AL Futtaim Holdings LLC (2010).

Mike’s business advisory roles include chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce UK, his membership of the Advisory Council for Business for New Europe, and Board of the TransAtlantic Business Council. He is a Senior Adviser for Chatham House and a member of the Oxford University Centre for Corporate Reputation Global Advisory Board.  Mike is a William Pitt Fellow at Pembroke College, Cambridge.

Mike is chairman of Governors and Vice President of Wellington College, chairman of the Henley Festival and is a Trustee of the Prince of Wales Charitable Foundations and a Vice President of the RNIB.

Mike’s past roles include: President of the Confederation of British Industry (2013-2015), Member of the Prime Minister’s Business Advisory Group (2010-2015), Chairman of easyJet plc (2010-2013) and Chairman of Business in the Community (2004-2007). After joining KPMG in 1974, Mike held several key roles: UK Senior Partner (1998-2006), Chairman KPMG Europe, Middle East and Africa (1999-2002) and Chairman KPMG International (2002-2007).

Mike has won several awards, including Channing Award for Corporate Citizenship (2013) and FTSE 100 non-executive director of the year (2013).
