Job Opportunity: Communications Manager

By 17/01/2018Opportunity

We are looking for an excellent all-round communicator with skills in digital marketing, PR and social media to join our small but passionate team, dedicated to making business a force for good.

About Us
A Blueprint for Better Business is an independent charity, which challenges businesses to operate to a purpose that serves society and respects people.

Much of our work is with senior leadership teams in large corporates, but we also work with investors, NGOs, academics, coaches and consultants, the media and others.  Through our roundtables, events, and one-to-one meetings we are working to help change the conversation about the role and expectations of business in society.

We are a small charity with a team of 6 core staff, but our profile and presence is growing by the day: providing an excellent opportunity for someone with good experience in the communications sector to help grow Blueprint from ‘a thing’ to ‘the thing’. One of our key objectives for 2018 is to be recognised as a trusted voice that senior leaders turn to for thoughtful and provocative questioning. As part of this we would like to scale up our online presence and media profiles.

For more information go to or find us on Twitter: @Blueprint4biz.

The Role
The day-to-day duties of this role involve everything from monitoring news, managing our online presence and responding to press enquiries, to creating branded content, running social media campaigns and identifying opportunities for comment and collaboration. Over the next 6 months, the role will also include creating content for our new website (soon to be developed).

Due to the nature of our small charity, we all help each other when required. This position will therefore include opportunities to be involved in other areas of our work.

We are looking for someone with:

  • An affinity with our ethos and approach
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in SEO, digital marketing and website maintenance
  • Enthusiasm for social media
  • Confidence in writing and editing a range of copy
  • A ‘team player’ mentality
  • Hope for the future

To apply

As a charity which tries to live true to our own principles, we are trialling a blind recruitment process. Therefore, to apply, send us a copy of your CV with your name, gender, age and the names of schools or universities removed from it. In addition to your CV, feel free to send us a paragraph or two (no more than 250 words) about why you’d love this job.
