Blueprint are seeking to engage an experienced external communications professional to work on a freelance basis in 2016, to implement an agreed communications strategy. We propose to agree a daily rate with the successful candidate, on the basis of a negotiated level of availability through the year, recognising the demands will vary significantly at different times.

Blueprint currently has a small team of five people made up of a mixture of paid staff and secondees, supplemented by pro bono assistance from a number of senior advisers. We are seeking to expand this small team by contracting with an experienced external communications professional– on a part time basis – to take responsibility for external communications, building networks and relationships to help us reach our target audiences.
We are not seeking to build the profile of Blueprint for its own sake. The charity exists to help businesses to uncover their purpose and to live it out. Blueprint needs to have sufficient public profile so it is seen as an independent and reliable source for people in business to help make decisions. The 2016 communications strategy is being built with this fundamental aim in mind and will also involve communications for three high profile events planned for 2016, namely:
- ‘Blueprint in Action’ conference on 17th March 2016 -with a number of high profile speakers
- An academic conference at London Business School on 16th and 17th September 2016 chaired by Professor Rebecca Henderson of Harvard Business School
- An investor event jointly organised with the Investor Forum to be hosted at Blackrock for asset managers to be attended by a number of CEOs who are already involved with Blueprint (date TBC)
Existing Blueprint staff support the website and social media presence. We are also hiring a graduate intern to enhance administrative support. This person will provide support to the communications executive whilst also assisting support for social media and website.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success with at least 5 years in professional communications, in journalism or other media in the public, private or voluntary sectors.
